Diogo Mónica is an investor and the cofounder and president of Anchorage Digital.
Mónica attended the Instituto Superior Técnico, where he earned a bachelor of science and master of science in communication networks engineering and a doctor of philosophy in computer science and network security.
Mónica worked at Square from April 2011 to February 2015 as a platform security lead. He built Square's security infrastructure that was used to move over $80 billion in annualized volume. Following that, he worked at Docker from February 2015 to November 2017 as a security lead. There, he worked on the security foundations of its container and orchestration subsystems, which are now used as core building blocks of modern information technology (IT) infrastructure worldwide.
Mónica founded Anchorage Digital with Nathan McCauley in 2017. Anchorage Digital is a global regulated cryptocurrency platform that provides institutions with integrated crypto financial services and infrastructure solutions. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, with other offices in New York City, South Dakota, Portugal, and Singapore.
Mónica is a former advisor of Airtable and StackRox. He has been a board member and advisor of Jscrambler since June 2014.
