The company offers a superior lithium ion battery alternative, the DKS radioisotopic battery solution, a singular design with unlimited power. The long-lasting radioisotopic power has high energy density and high efficiency, and can utilize power from the United States Department of Energy waste.
In order to achieve reduced battery weight and new levels of efficiency, Direct Kinetic Solutions created beta-emitting radioisotope power. Batteries based on beta-emitting isotopic power sources can provide long extended periods of uninterrupted power, despite their tiny size—a single cubic centimeter of volume.
Direct Kinetic Solutions can replace traditional lithium batteries found in small satellites with long-lasting isotopic batteries. In addition, space is made available for ISR payloads and reduces mass budget allocated for power systems.

On September 23rd, 2020, Direct Kinetic Solutions announced a joint partnership with SPiN—Space Products and Innovation, a step to further develop their technologies. The main objective is to embed their radioisotopic power system (RPS) to the driver library of SPiN's MA61C, a universal adaptor for satellite manufacturers.DKS and SPiN will also work together to coordinate design, manufacturing, and collaboration on future funding opportunities.
