Dmitry Ustinov (born October 17, 1908, as Dmitriy Fyodorovich Ustinov) was a Russian politician, engineer, officer in the armed forces, and writer. He was born in Samara and held citizenship in both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. Ustinov was educated at the Baltic State Technical University.
Throughout his life, Dmitry Ustinov was celebrated with numerous awards, such as Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of Socialist Labor, Order of Lenin, Order of Suvorov, Order of Kutuzov, Lenin Prize, Stalin Prize, USSR State Prize, Medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", and Medal "For the Defense of Moscow".
Dmitry Ustinov passed away on December 20, 1984, in Moscow.
