Douglas Hofstadter was born on February 15, 1945 in New York City. He is a computer scientist, philosopher, writer, and physicist from the United States. Hofstadter's birth name is Douglas Richard Hofstadter. He is the child of Robert Hofstadter, a Nobel laureate physicist.
