Dream (YouTuber)

Dream, real name Clay (last name unknown), is an American YouTuber known for creating content featuring the survival sandbox game Minecraft while wearing a mask. Dream is a cofounding member of a group of other Minecraft content creators named DreamSMP. In 2014, he launched his own channel, which took off after he published a video in 2019 about trying to find PewDiePie’s Minecraft seed. As of early 2024, his YouTube channel has over 31 million subscribers.

Dream received a 2022 Guinness World Record for the most viewed Minecraft gameplay video on YouTube. On October 2, 2022, the previously anonymous gaming streamer took off the cartoon-smiley mask he’s worn for about three years. He teased the “face reveal” to his 30 million YouTube subscribers on September 19, 2022, with a post on his Community Tab.

The video got over 1.1 million views within the hour, and in the United States on Twitter, the hashtag #DreamFaceReveal became the No. 1 trending topic. The reveal was met with mixed feedback, including both excitement from his fans and negative comments about his appearance. This created a “He’s Ugly” and “#PutTheMaskBackOn” trend alongside the hashtag following his post.
