DROPP saw the need to change the inception of the intangibility of the metaverse by mapping the real world to the metaverse.

Technology of DROPP Land

Dividing the map into equal parts is a challenge, because there is no easy way to move the surface of the globe onto a flat surface such as a map. Different designs are used for this purpose. DROPP’s product development team have researched and identified unique technology that will have least friction and distortion in our metaverse:

Dymaxion Projection — One of the most popular is the Mercator projection (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercator_projection), it is used in most digital maps such as Google maps. The problem with this projection is that it distorts the real magnitudes, the further the area from the equator, the greater the distortion. To minimize this effect, we decided to use the Dymaxion projection (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_map), which minimizes distortions.

HEX — Additionally, by leveraging the hexagon to map out the DROPP LAND, it provides a unique property where center and the adjacent tiles will have equal distance contrast to using triangle or rectangle which will distort the distance.

H3 Coordinate System — Additionally, thanks to the use of the H3 coordinate system and its hierarchical structure, it is possible to mark a position on the map with one number instead of the traditional latitude and longitude. Which allows you to save space on the blockchain and easily filter content in a given area. This allows you to locate the plot on the map and assign its equivalent in the NFT, which also contains this data.

Data is needed to use Geolocation and to track objects located on plots in the real world as well as themselves. Each plot is an NFT token; it stores information about the hexagons that make up it, as well as graphics representing its shape and visualization on the map of its real help. The plot data will be stored in Metaplex metadata on the Arweave blockchain.

DROPP’s mission is bringing the metaverse into the real world. With the recent crisis around COVID-19, social interaction has been restricted in many ways. In one way, the emerging trend of the metaverse is slowly merging into each one of our lives in one way or the other.

For many generations, social interaction has involved physical touch, smelling or tasting.
