The Dusk Network is described by the developers as a blockchain for programmable and confidential securities based on zero-knowledge proofs and a new consensus protocol based on Private PoS leader extraction. Dusk Network is a privacy blockchain for financial applications. It is a layer 1 blockchain that supports the Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard and supports native Confidential Smart Contracts.
DUSK tokens can be used as utility tokens to initiate transactions and atomic swaps, or to deploy smart contracts. DUSK can also be staked to participate in a consensus and serves as a medium of exchange for value expressed in DUSK. In the future, the team intends to expand the use cases for DUSK by adding it to the chain management system. Dusk Network was founded in 2018 and is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
