He was educated at Santa Monica College, Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, and Los Angeles High School. Hoffman was born in Los Angeles, California, and holds United States citizenship.
Throughout his career, Hoffman has appeared in numerous films, including Alfredo, Alfredo, Midnight Cowboy, The Graduate, and Tootsie. Furthermore, he has lent his voice to the popular animated film series Kung Fu Panda.
