The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME) is a group dedicated to supporting European innovators, researchers, businesses, and consumers. The group was founded originally as the Intelligent Energy Executive Agency (IEEA) in 2003. It was renamed in 2007 to European Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI) and finally, EASME in 2014.
The group is responsible for managing specific programs in the fields of energy, the environment, and business support. The Agency implements the European Innovation Council and manages other EU programs focusing on SME support, innovation, the single market, consumer policy, and interregional innovation investments.
EASME is in charge of managing SME, environment, and maritime projects funded under COSME, Horizon 2020, LIFE, and EMFF. They also organize the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).
