A SBIR Phase I contract was awarded to Everykey in February, 2021 for $49,928.0 USD from the U.S. Department of Defense and United States Air Force.
Everykey, Inc., located in Cleveland, OH, is on a mission to bring easy and secure authentication to everyone. They do this using the Everykey device, illustrated in Figure 1, to replace passwords and keys. Using military grade security, Everykey unlocks your phone, laptop, tablet, and other access-controlled devices when you are nearby, then locks them back down when you walk away. Everykey also generates secure passwords for your website accounts, then automatically logs you in when you visit a website. If you lose your Everykey, you can remotely freeze it, so no one else can use it. The next step in Everykey’s evolution is to engineer a way to unlock even more devices: cars, doors, all kinds of ground vehicles, and more. It is a natural fit to work with the Air Force to develop the next generation of Everykey smart key devices for such things as lockers, gun cabinets, any type of ground vehicle, access to restricted areas, and more.
