Edmund Husserl

Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) was a mathematician and philosopher born in Prostějov and held citizenship in both Germany and Austria. He was educated at various institutions, including the University of Vienna, Humboldt University of Berlin, Leipzig University, and Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. His doctoral advisor was Leo Königsberger, and his doctoral thesis was titled "Beiträge zur Variationsrechnung" (Contributions to the Calculus of Variations).

Husserl's birth name was Edmund Gustav Albrecht Husserl, and he had German nationality. He died in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1938. Among his doctoral students were philosophers Jacob Klein and Ludwig Landgrebe.
