Edward Goodrich Acheson (born September 9, 1856, in Washington, Pennsylvania) was a United States chemist and engineer. Acheson became known for developing the Acheson process, a noteworthy work in his career.

Acheson passed away on June 7, 1931, in New York City. In recognition of his contributions to chemistry and engineering, Acheson was posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1997.
