Edwin Klebs (born June 2, 1834, and died October 23, 1913) was a German-Swiss biologist known for his research and contributions to the field of microbiology. Klebs was born in Königsberg and held citizenship in both Germany and Switzerland . He pursued his education at the University of Würzburg , where he studied under the guidance of influential physician and pathologist Rudolf Virchow .
After his time at the University of Würzburg, Klebs continued to work on his research in various positions throughout his career. He ultimately passed away in Bern , Switzerland, on October 23, 1913 .
