Eli Whitney (), born in Westborough, Massachusetts on December 8, 1765, was an American engineer, tax collector, and politician. He was a citizen of the United States and had received education at Yale University and Yale College.
Whitney is notably a 1974 inductee of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. He was a child of Eli Whitney and had a child named Eli Whitney as well.
Eli Whitney passed away in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 8, 1825.
