American inventor
Elias Howe was an engineer and machinist born on September 7, 1819, in Spencer County, Indiana. He held citizenship in the United States. His father was also named Elias Howe and he had a son named Elias Howe as well. Howe passed away on March 1, 1867, in Brooklyn. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2004.
