EDNA RAE GILLOOLY

Born December 7, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Her real name is Edna Ray Gillooly.
Graduated from Class Technical High School in Detroit. After graduation, worked as a model in the state of Texas, from 1952 performed in nightclubs as a dancer. In 1957 she made her Broadway debut. In 1964 she graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theater School in New York.
On TV since 1963, playing Dr. Kate Bartok on the television series
"The Doctors (1963-1982). On the big screen, she made her debut as Franny Salzman in "Goodbye, Charlie" (1964).
Became popular in the early 1970s. Helen Burstyn played the roles of women who hopelessly sought to combine feminism with well-being in private life.
Her most famous film roles are Louise Farrow in Peter Bogdanovich's The Last Movie Show (1971, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations), Chris MacNeil in horror film The Exorcist (1973, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations), Alice Hyatt in the film drama Alice Does Not Live Here Anymore (1974, Academy Award, British Academy Award etc.). ), Sonia Langman in French maestro Alain Resnais's Providence (1977), Doris in (1978, Golden Globe, Oscar nomination), Edna MacCaulay in Resurrection (1980, Saturn nomination, Golden Globe nomination).
