Emily Leprust is an American scientist and entrepreneur.
She is the CEO and co-founder of Twist Bioscience, a publicly traded DNA synthesis company.
The company uses synthetic biology, providing tools for the production of insulin from yeast, the fight against malaria, the production of spider silk at scale or the storage of DNA information.
In 2020, she was awarded the BIO Rosalind Franklin Award.
Leprust received a Master of Science degree.
She received a doctorate in Industrial Chemistry from the Lyon School of Industrial Chemistry in 1995 and a doctorate in organic chemistry and nucleic acid Chemistry from the University of Houston in 2001.
She worked at Agilent, where she was Director of Applications and Chemistry.
