Emotion Intelligence is an artificial intelligence company developing software for cognitive emotional interaction design that is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and was founded in 2011 by Hajime Kuwayama and Koichiro Onda.
On December 25, 2014 Emotion Intelligence announced raising an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Shogo Kawada, Gen Isayama, and Open Network Lab.
On July 5, 2015 Emotion Intelligence announced raising an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Social Stars. The co-CEO of Emotion Intelligence, Kowa Kuwayama, made the following statements regarding the company's seed funding round:

On November 8, 2015 Emotion Intelligence announced raising ¥400 million in series A funding from Social Starts, Leed Capital Management, and Digital Garage.
