Epicorp is a venture capital and private equity firm investing in early-stage commercialization of technologies coming out of Australian research institutions that is headquartered in Fyshwick, Australian Capital Territory and was founded in 2001.
The firms business incubator program was supported through the ITC incubator program (ICTIP) grant from the Federal Government Department of Communications, Information Technology and The Arts (DCITA), a supporting grant from the ACT Government, and the provision of buildings by CSIRO. In 2008 the Epicorp incubator program ended.
The firm invests in companies commercializing technologies from Australian universities. Notable investments made by Epicorp include: GPSports Systems, Epitactix, Amethon Solutions, Locata Corporation, Simmersion Holdings, Cohda Wireless, Windlab Systems, Mediaware International, Hatrix, Endtiti, and Newton.
The Epicorp Seed Fund I offers venture capital funding to companies participating in the Epicorp incubator program. The Epicorp Seed Fund I invests a maximum of $450,000 per investment.
