Esil (Kazakh: Есіл, Esıl; Russian: Есиль) is a town in northern-central Kazakhstan. It is the seat of Esil District in Aqmola Region. It is located on the right bank of the Ishim River. Population: 11,551 people (2009 Census results) ; 13,096 people (1999 Census results). Junction of railway lines to Nur-Sultan, Kartaly, Arkalyk.
Hystory
Since October 22, 1955 - the center of the Esilsky district. Since 1958 - a working settlement, since 1963 - a town. In 1970-1988 and 1990-1997 it was part of the Turgai region. Based on the decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of July 23, 1930, a regional division was introduced on the territory of Kazakhstan, based on the enlarged districts of 1929, with the partial formation of new districts.
Among the new ones is the Yesil district - formed from the Proletarian and part of the Atbasar districts of the Akmola district, with the center - the village of Yesil.
On February 10, 1935, the village of Kiyma was approved as the center of the Esilsky district.
The district occupied a significant territory of the former Akmola district. In the northern part, it bordered on the Ruzaevsky district, on the east - on Atbassar and Kurgaldzhinsky, on the south - on Karsapakpai, on the west - on Semiozerny and Ubagansky, on the southwest - on Batpakara (in 1936 it was renamed Amangeldinsky).
On February 20, 1932, the Karaganda region was formed and the Yesil district became part of the Karaganda region. On June 29, 1936, the North Kazakhstan region was formed with the center in the town of Petropavlovsk. The regional center of the Karaganda region was moved to Karaganda. Esilsky district became part of the North Kazakhstan region.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated October 14, 1939, the Akmola region was created, and the Esil region became part of the newly formed region.
In connection with the development of virgin and fallow lands, the organization of new state farms, the growth of the economy of state farms and collective farms, the availability of huge land areas, the issue of disaggregating the Esilsky district is being decided.
On the basis of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR dated October 22, 1955, the Barankul district is formed on the territory of the district with the center in the village of the central estate of the state farm "Barankul" and the Kiyminsky district - with the center in the village of Kiyma.
The center of the Yesil district is transferred to the settlement at the Yesil railway station.
During 1954-1955, 18 new virgin state farms were created:
Alma-Ata, Buzuluk, Far, Dvurechny, Yeisk, Zhanyspai, Zarechny, Kalachevsky, Krasivinsky, Karakolsky, Komsomolsky, Kursk, Lyubimovsky, Mayakovsky, Mirny, Moscow, 37 years of October, Svobodny.
Based on the decision of the executive committee of the Akmola Regional Council of Workers' Deputies dated February 21, 1958 No. 9/12, the Esil settlement of the Kyzylsu Village Council was classified as a workers' settlement.
The Kyzylsu village council of the Esil district is renamed into the Esil village council of the urban type.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR dated April 3, 1963, the village of Yesil was classified as a town of district subordination.
On November 23, 1970, the Turgai region was formed by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR. From November 23, 1970 to June 06, 1988 Esilsky district was part of the Turgay region.
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR dated June 02, 1988 The Turgai region was abolished and the Esilsky district became part of the Tselinograd region from June 06, 1988 to August 17, 1990.
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR dated August 01, 1990 the Turgai region was restored to its former borders.
From August 17, 1990 to April 22, 1997 Esilsky district is part of the Turgay region.
Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 126 dated April 22, 1997. "On measures to optimize the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan" Turgay region was abolished and Esilsky district became part of Akmola region.
