F.C. Penafiel

Futebol Clube de Penafiel was “born” on February 8, 1951, by the merger of two clubs that at the time were called “União Desportiva Penafielense” and “Sport Clube de Penafiel”.

Futebol Clube de Penafiel came to end with old rivalries and uniting Penafiel society around a single club, Futebol Clube de Penafiel. From the list of founders, there are 97 names, with the number one being Joaquim José de Oliveira.

Futebol Clube de Penafiel started its performance in the district championship of the III Division of AF Porto and since then, it has been one of the clubs with the most presence in the professional leagues, alternating its participation between the 1st League and 2nd League.
