F. Gary Gray, born Felix Gary Gray, is an American film director, film producer, television producer, and actor. He was born on July 17, 1969, in New York City and holds citizenship in the United States.
Gray began his career in 1988 and is known for directing a variety of film genres, such as action, crime, comedy, heist, thriller, mystery, drama, and science fiction. He is also known as a producer of music videos.
Gray directed the successful 1995 film "Friday", as well as other notable films such as "Set It Off", "The Negotiator", "The Italian Job" (2003 video game), "Be Cool", "Law Abiding Citizen", and "The Fate of the Furious".
