FC Dynamo

The first entry in the chronicle of the history of «Dynamo» is dated May 13, 1927, when the capital club was founded in the structure of the proletarian sports community «Dynamo», and only the next year the team held the first official football match.

For a long time, the people of Kiev were content to participate in semi-official community «Dynamo» tournaments, and only in 1936 for the first time seriously stated herself at the all-Union level in the newly created championship of the USSR.

The post-war years were very difficult for «Dynamo», were accompanied by setbacks, turnover of personnel and constant changes of the head coach, but gradually the people of Kiev began to get to Olympus and to impose the struggle to powerful clubs from Moscow. It was the confrontation with Moscow clubs that became key for Kiev during the Union, the team alternated ups and downs, but every year even more strengthened the brand «Dynamo» and increased the army of fans.

The club was founded on May 13, 1927[6]. The first recorded game took place on July 17, 1928 against Dynamo Odessa (2:2). During the Soviet period, the club won 13 USSR championships, 9 USSR Cups, 3 USSR Super Cups. One of two football clubs (together with Dynamo Moscow) that participated in all USSR championships in the top division. Became the first non-Moscow team to win the USSR championship.

On the international stage, he won 2 Cup Winners' Cups (1975, 1986) and the UEFA Super Cup (1975). The first Soviet club to win a European trophy.

In Ukraine, he won 16 national championships, 13 national cups, 8 Ukrainian Super Cups.

The club's home stadium, NSC Olimpiyskiy, was opened in 1923 and is the largest football stadium in Ukraine, as well as the second in the CIS, accommodating more than 70,000 fans.

Dynamo Kyiv ranked 8th in the list of the best clubs in the world of the 20th century according to kicker magazine[7], and also 16th in the list of the best European clubs of the 20th century according to IFFHS[8][9]. The best club in Eastern Europe of the XX century according to France-Presse (2000) [source not specified 1289 days].
