FC Ufa is a Russian football club based in Ufa that currently plays in the Russian Premier League.
In the summer of 2010, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov announced the need to create a Premier League-level team in Ufa. It was decided to form a new club on the basis of Bashinformsvyaz-Dynamo, which played in the Second Division. The name of the team was chosen by the fans, in the poll the majority of votes were scored by the option - "Ufa Football Club".
The official foundation date of the club is December 23, 2010.
In the first year of its performance, the team was set a goal to get into the First Division. Andrey Kanchelskis was invited to the position of coach in Ufa to solve the tasks set, initially it was also announced that Anatoly Byshovets would take the position of consultant coach, but later he refused the official position. Ufa played its first official match in the Russian Cup against the Syzran-2003 club. The winner was determined only in a penalty shootout, where the representatives of the Samara region were luckier (3:4 on pen.). The debut in the championship of Russia took place on April 24. On their own field, with a score of 3:1, the Tyumen team was beaten. Konstantin Ionov scored a hat-trick on his own account. On May 18, 2012, by agreement of the parties, the contract with the general director of FC Ufa Alexey Oshchepkov and head coach Andrey Kanchelskis was terminated. On May 20, in the match against "Chemist" Dzerzhinsk, the team was led by Andrey Malai. On May 21, Shamil Gazizov became Acting General Director, Igor Kolyvanov became the head coach. At the end of the season, the club took second place, giving Petrochemicals a place in the FNL, only due to defeat in a personal meeting.
On July 2, 2012, at an extraordinary meeting of the general meeting of the FNL, the issue of replacing FC Dynamo (Bryansk), which had not passed licensing, with the Ufa football club, was considered, after which FC Ufa was accepted into the FNL.
And already on July 9, the team took the start in the second strongest division of Russian football. The first opponent of our club was Spartak from Nalchik, who had just dropped out of the Russian Premier League. The first match at a new level with, in general, an equal game ended with the victory of the Southerners. Spartak scored the only goal from a penalty kick at the beginning of the second half. In the first home match, Ufa won the first major victory in the FNL. On July 16, 2012, the Moscow Torpedo was defeated with a score of 3:0. And the author of the first goal of Ufa in the FNL was a pupil of Ufa football Alexander Vasiliev. In the next round, on July 24, the first guest victory was also won. In Astrakhan, the local Volgar was beaten 1-0. This season, the first legionnaires from abroad appeared in the composition of FC Ufa – Brazilians William Arthur de Oliveira and Diego Carlos de Oliveira. In the middle of the season, Japanese Yosuke Saito joined them. The author of the first "foreign" goal in the history of Ufa was Diego, who opened the scoring in the match against Yaroslavl Shinnik on September 21, 2012. And William became the first legionnaire in the history of Ufa who took the team to the field with the captain's armband. During the season, FC Ufa midfielders Yuri Kirillov and Alexander Vasiliev were called up to the youth national team of Russia.
In its first season in the National Football League, Ufa immediately became one of the best teams in the Championship, and after 8-9 rounds even topped the standings. As a result, Ufa showed the best result among all the newcomers of the League and immediately took 6th place. In 32 matches Ufa won 13 victories, finished 9 matches in a draw and lost 10 with a difference of goals scored and conceded 31-30. The club's top scorer was Mikhail Markosov, who scored 9 goals. The best assistant is Brazilian legionnaire William, who gave 6 assists.
According to the results of the 2013/14 FNL Championship, the Ufa team took 4th place and entered the play-off matches with Tom. The first game took place on May 18, 2014, ended with a score of 5:1, poker was made by Dmitry Golubov, another ball on William's account. The return match took place on May 22, 2014 in Tomsk at the Trud Stadium. The match ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of Tomi, which allowed Ufa to rise to the Premier League for the first time in its history.
The entry of the Ufa Football Club into the Russian Premier League in the 2013/14 season was a dynamic impetus to the development of the number one sport in the republic.
In 2015, the reconstruction of the Neftyanik stadium was completed, the highest first category was assigned to the modern arena. The new sports center includes the main and reserve fields, four training grounds, spectator stands for 15,000 seats, a fitness center, eight athletics tracks and an administrative and household building. Reconstruction of the stadium began in 2012.
Following the results of the first season in the Premier League, Ufa football club took 12th place, which allowed the team to keep its place in the elite division. The following season, the team's head coach Igor Kolyvanov was dismissed due to unsatisfactory results, and Evgeny Perevertailo replaced him on October 21, 2015. The change of coach helped Ufa, but in the spring part of the season the team lost several decisive matches and before the last round of the championship was in 15th place in the relegation zone. Perevertailo left his post, and Sergey Tomarov was appointed acting for the last match, with whom Ufa managed to beat Spartak Moscow with a score of 3:1 and retain a place in the Premier League, avoiding even play-offs.
In the summer off-season, on July 4, 2016, Ukrainian midfielder Alexander Zinchenko transferred from Ufa to English Manchester City for a large transfer amount, this became the first transfer of a football player to an English top club in the history of Ufa.
