Federal University of Rio de Janeiro

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) is a public educational institution located in Brazil. Founded on September 7, 1920, it is an organization that operates within the education, higher education, and university industries.

The institution holds the motto "A Universidade do Brasil" (The University of Brazil). The university is affiliated with the Council of Brazilian University Rectors and Rede Nacional de Extensão.
