German orental mathematician
Ferdinand von Lindemann (12 April 1852 – 6 March 1939) was a mathematician born in Hanover and died in Munich. Known for his work in mathematics, Lindemann studied at the University of Göttingen. He held citizenship in both the German Confederation and Germany.
Lindemann's doctoral advisor was Felix Klein, and among his notable doctoral students were David Hilbert and Hermann Minkowski.
