Filippo Brunelleschi was an engineer, civil engineer, and architect who was born on January 1, 1377, in Florence. His works were primarily in the early Renaissance genre. Brunelleschi is best known for his notable works which include the Florence Cathedral, Santo Spirito in Florence, Ospedale degli Innocenti and the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore.
He was the author of multiple architectural masterpieces including the Florence Cathedral, San Lorenzo and Santo Spirito, both in Florence, as well as the Ospedale degli Innocenti. Brunelleschi passed away on April 15, 1446, in Florence . His contributions to architecture and engineering continue to be remembered as important pieces of early Renaissance art and engineering.
