Finn E. Kydland is a Norwegian economist and professor, born on December 1, 1943, in Ålgård, Norway. He is primarily known for his work on the Real Business Cycle Theory and Time consistency in economic policy. Kydland received his education at the Norwegian School of Economics, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Tepper School of Business.
Kydland's doctoral advisor was Edward C. Prescott, another notable economist.
