Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is a public institution in the United States and a member of the State University System of Florida. Established in 1961, the university is located in Boca Raton, Florida. FAU operates in the education, higher education, and university industries, and is an educational institute. The university's motto is "Where Tomorrow Begins".
FAU has several subsidiaries, such as the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, the Florida Atlantic University College of Business, the Florida Atlantic University Library, the Florida Atlantic University College of Education, and the Florida Atlantic University College of Engineering and Computer Science. As of now, the university has been assigned 25 patents.
The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET. Moreover, FAU is affiliated with several associations, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, National Athletic Association, and Association of Public and Land.
