Frances McDormand is an American actor, producer, and television producer born on June 23, 1957, in Gibson City, Illinois. Born Cynthia Ann Smith, she holds United States citizenship and is well-known for her work as a character actor. She has been educated at several institutions including Monessen High School, Bethany College (West Virginia), Yale University, and the Yale School of Drama.
Some of McDormand's notable works include "Fargo", "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", and "Nomadland, 2020". Throughout her career, she has received numerous prestigious awards, such as Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Emmy Awards.
