Francis Egerton, 1st Earl of Ellesmere (1800-1857), was a British statesman, author, poet, and politician. He was born on January 1, 1800, in London, England. Egerton held citizenship in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Great Britain.
