Franz Liszt was born on October 22, 1811, in Raiding, Austria and was a citizen of Hungary and Austria-Hungary . He passed away on July 31, 1886, in Bayreuth . His father was Adam Liszt and his child was Cosima Wagner , who later became the wife of composer Richard Wagner. Liszt authored music from genres like symphony , Hungarian folk music , and classical music . He was particularly notable for works such as the Dante Symphony , Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 , Hungarian Rhapsody No. 1 , Mazeppa (symphonic poem) , and Hamlet (Liszt) . Additionally, Liszt was the author of the musical work Réminiscences de Don Juan .
Franz Liszt also founded the Franz Liszt Academy of Music , which is a prominent music institution in Hungary.
