German physiologist
Friedrich Goltz (1834-1902) was a German scientist born in Poznań and educated at the University of Königsberg. Throughout his life, he made contributions to the field of science before his death in Strasbourg.
Goltz was a student of Hermann von Helmholtz, who served as his doctoral advisor. In turn, Goltz supervised Jacques Loeb as his doctoral student.
During his lifetime, Friedrich Goltz held German citizenship. He was born on August 14, 1834, and passed away on May 4, 1902.
