GRA Venture Fund is the Atlanta, Georgia based investment affiliate of the Georgia Research Alliance and the GRA Venture development program. They invest in research-based technology, life sciences, manufacturing and agricultural startups in Georgia.
GRA Venture Fund was launched in 2009 with a $7.5 million investment from the State of Georgia. Following this, GRA Venture Fund raised a further $11.8 million from investors. In 2015, GRA Venture Fund held a second raise of $25 million, $21 million of which came from individual investors.
GRA Venture Fund has made investments in Lumense, Soneter, StarMobile, Celtaxsys, Axion BioSystems, FraudScope, Carbice Corporation and Acivilate.
They have exited their investments in Damballa, Clearside Biomedical and StarMobile.
