As for humor, Garik Martirosyan joked everywhere, always, about and without - it's in his blood. Probably, he would have continued to receive patients if he had not met with the team of KVN "New Armenians". We can say with full confidence that it was this acquaintance that became the defining moment in Garik's fate, giving him a ticket to television.
KVN
The first meeting of the young neuropathologist doctor with the KVN team took place in 1992. Probably, this year should be considered the point from which the creative biography of Garik Martirosyan began. The "Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful" changed the life and determined the future fate of the future artist.
In an interview, Garik Martirosyan shared his memories of that time. According to him, soon after entering the medical university, a military conflict began in Armenia (the war for Nagorno-Karabakh). There were serious power outages in the country, there was no gas, and bread was given out by cards. At that time, KVN began – young people gathered in someone's apartment, stocked up on candles and wrote comic texts.
"They amused themselves. Well, we just had no other way out," says the comedian.
In 1993, Garik became a player of the Armenian League, on the basis of which the New Armenians team appeared after a while. Martirosyan started as an ordinary player, but in 1997 he headed the team.

The game filled all the free time of the artist, so it is logical that he began to earn a living with humor. In the late 90s, the main income came from touring, but even then Garik Martirosyan tried himself as a screenwriter. Even when he wasn't playing in the "Fun and Resourceful Club" on stage, he continued to play as a producer. Then the Sochi team "Tired of the Sun" appeared, to which Martirosyan wrote plots and jokes for performances.
As a member of the "New Armenians" team, Garik performed for a total of nine years. During this time, the team became the champion of the Highest League (1997), twice received the Summer Cup (1998, 2003), was repeatedly awarded at the Jurmala festival "The Vocal Kivin", and also became the winner of other awards of the "Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful".
As Garik Martirosyan himself noted, the organizational and experience that KVN gave him in his youth became a real school of life for him.

Martirosyan is not only a wonderful artist, but also a producer, although he does not have a specialized education. He decided to open the list of his filmography for the first time in 2008: the audience saw the premiere of the full-length film "Our Russia. Eggs of destiny". Garik not only produced the project, but also wrote a script for it. Garik Martirosyan and Garik Kharlmamov — "The Caucasian Alphabet"
In the same year, the comedy film "Zomboyashchik" was released, where Martirosyan played one of the main roles. Despite the abundance of diverse jokes, the picture was criticized by the audience and could not pay off. Comedy Club
Garik Martirosyan's career, which started in KVN, opened the doors to Russian show business for him. So, in 2005, the artist, together with his comrades in the "Club of the Cheerful and Resourceful", initiated a new comedy project.
A program called Comedy Club, made according to the template of American stand-up shows, soon began to appear on the TNT channel. Garik was one of the producers, simultaneously performing in the show. Soon Martirosyan became a cult figure for Russian youth.
Garik Martirosyan and Garik Kharlamov in their youth
Unfortunately, Garik Martirosyan himself always spoke sparingly about the creation of the program. Being modest, the artist says that Mikhail Galustyan, Vadim Galygin, Alexander Revva and other future residents gathered and decided to organize a humorous program, although colleagues claim that he is the founder of this project.
The artists did not make their way to television right away. The Comedy Club trial edition was gathering dust in someone's desks for about a year before it was viewed and approved. Not everyone liked the sharp jokes of the residents (as the artists themselves called themselves). But, fortunately, the program was missed on the air.
Today it is difficult to find a person who would not have heard about the Comedy Club, despite the fact that Garik himself did not initially believe in the success of this project. But hard work quickly began to produce positive results. The ratings of the program grew steadily. Martirosyan became famous for such miniatures as "The Moscow Language", "Casting. New Wave", "Criminal Russia", "Caucasian Alphabet" and "The Case in the Caucasian restaurant" with Timur Batrutdinov. The showman demonstrated an excellent sense of humor not only as an artist of the project, but also as a TV presenter: Martirosyan became famous for his ability to represent guests.
