George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) was a composer and musician born in Halle (Saale), Germany. He held citizenship in Germany, the Kingdom of Great Britain, and the Holy Roman Empire. Handel was educated at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, and throughout his career, he held various occupations such as composer, musician, impresario, harpsichordist, and organist. His father was Georg Händel.
Handel composed music across a range of genres, including anthems, operas, concertos, oratorios, classical music, coronation anthems, and baroque music. Some of his most notable works include "Alcina," "Serse," "Giulio Cesare," "Music for the Royal Fireworks," "Water Music," "Messiah," and "Concerti grossi, Op. 6". Handel passed away in London on April 14, 1759.
