George Herman Babcock (June 17, 1832 - December 16, 1893) was an engineer born in Unadilla Forks, New York. He held citizenship in the United States and was one of the founders of Babcock & Wilcox, a company specializing in manufacturing and distributing boiler equipment.
Babcock's contributions to his field earned him recognition, and he was posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1997. He passed away in Plainfield, New Jersey in 1893.
