Georgy Zhukov (born November 19, 1896) was a Russian military personnel and politician. He was born in the Russian Empire and held citizenship in the Soviet Union. He was a key military figure during World War II and was the founder of the Red Army.
During his life, Zhukov received numerous awards, including the Order of Lenin, Hero of the Soviet Union, Order of Victory, and the Cross of St. George; along with foreign awards such as Virtuti Militari and the Czechoslovak War Cross 1939–1945. He was also honored with commemorative medals, including those in recognition of anniversaries for the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and the Armed Forces of the USSR.
Georgy Zhukov passed away on June 18, 1974 in Moscow, Russia.
