Gerd Müller (born 3 November 1945, Nördlingen) was a German football player known by the nickname "Bomber der Nation". Müller played for Germany at the national level and was the recipient of numerous awards during his career. He passed away on 15 August 2021 in Wolfratshausen.
Müller received awards such as the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, Regionalliga Süd (1963–74), Intercontinental Cup (football), and FIFA Club World Cup. He was also recognized as the European Cup top scorer and received the UEFA European Championship, Ballon d'Or, Footballer of the Year in Germany, and kicker Bundesliga Team of the Season.
Other accolades include the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot, European Golden Shoe, UEFA European Championship Top Scorer, and UEFA Champions League Team of the Season. Müller was also honored with the FIFA Order of Merit, FIFA 100, Golden Foot, Bravo Otto, IFFHS Legends, IFFHS All-time Men's Dream Team, and played for FC Bayern Munich.
