Giacomo Leopardi was an Italian philosopher, essayist, philologist, writer, poet, and translator born in 1798 in Recanati. He was the son of Monaldo Leopardi.
Leopardi's notable works include "Zibaldone," a collection of philosophical reflections; "L'infinito," a famous poem; "Canti," a collection of poetry; and "Small Moral Works," a series of short essays . Leopardi also used the pseudonym Cosimo Papareschi in some of his works.
He passed away in Naples in 1837.
