Gifford Palgrave

Gifford Palgrave (1826-1888) was a British diplomat, writer, and explorer from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Born in Westminster on January 24, 1826, Palgrave was the son of Francis Palgrave.

He received his education at Charterhouse School and Trinity College, Oxford. As a diplomat, Palgrave served the British government in various capacities. In addition to his diplomatic career, he was also a writer and explorer, contributing to the knowledge of the countries he visited or was posted in.

Gifford Palgrave passed away on January 1, 1888, in Montevideo.
