GitHub Accelerator

GitHub Accelerator was launched in 2022 alongside the GitHub Fund in partnership with M12M12, MicrosoftMicrosoft’s venture arm. GitHub Accelerator aims to provide initial funding to 20twenty developers involved in open sourceopen-source projects per cohort.

Over ten weeks, GitHub provides a $20K cash stipend and mentorship to participants in the program. Participants are given the opportunity to collaborate with established members of the open sourceopen-source community on developing their projectprojects. In addition, the program offers the support of company sponsors to teach participants about funding acquisition.

In addition to the accelerator, GitHub launched the $10 million M12 GitHub Fund. The fund's investment focus is open sourceopen-source developer tools at the seed stage.
