Globe Living (formerly known as Recharge) is a company offering a platform for booking 4-5 star hotels that allows customers to only pay for the time they need. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded in 2015 by Christopher Lo, Emmanuel Bamfo, Jimmy Hsu, and Will Johnson.
Globe Living, as part of their rebranding from Recharge, offers users a platform where they can also book out of Globe homes, including for single rooms, for a few hours and for a shower. Users can also share their home through Globe Living and rent out a room or office space or shower to other members.
On June 3, 2016 Globe completed their seed funding round with $2.3 million in funding from Binary Capital (lead investor), Floodgate, Expansion Venture Capital, and Eniac Ventures.
On April 24, 2017 Globe completed a venture capital round with an undisclosed amount of funding from JetBlue Technology Ventures.
On January 29, 2019 Globe completed a corporate funding round with an undisclosed amount of funding from Fifth Wall Ventures.
As part of their rebrand, Globe Living participated in Y Combinator's S19 batch where they raised $150,000 from Y Combinator and follow-on funding from Frontier Ventures.
