2012—2015

Taras Shevchenko first had the idea of creating a band that would combine modern electronic music with ethnic motifs in 2011, but it was difficult for him to find like-minded people. Therefore, Shevchenko's first attempts were at home on a laptop, and with live musicians, the work began at the end of 2012. Then the first song "Kolyada" appeared.

2016-2019: "Go to the sound"

In November 2016, the band's debut album "Go to the Sound" , released on the label "Moon Records", was released. In the same year, "Go_A" won the contest "The Best Track in Ukraine" and the song "Vesnyanka" got into the rotation of the wave of "Kiss FM", where it stayed on the first step in the hit parade "10 Dance" for six weeks in a row, after which the band was nominated for the title "Kiss FM Discovery of the Year".

In early 2017, "Go_A" recorded the Christmas single "Generous Evening" in collaboration with Katya Chilly. In the same year, the band took part in the "Folk-music" teleconcert on the UA: First channel, where they sang the folk song "Around the river, around the ford" from the repertoire of the Kryachkiv ensemble "Drevo".

In the spring of 2019, the single "Vesnyanka" entered the Top 10 iTunes Dance chart in Slovakia.

2020: National selection for Eurovision 2020

On January 20, 2020, it became known that "Go_A" will participate in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. According to the results of the draw, the group performed in the first semi-final of the national selection, which took place on February 8, and made it to the final. On February 22, in the finals of the national selection, the group with the song "Nightingale" took first place, receiving the highest number of points based on the results of both the judges' and the audience's votes.[6] Therefore, they were supposed to represent Ukraine at the competition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in the first semi-final on May 12. On March 18, the European Broadcasting Union announced that the song contest would not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, on the same day, NSTU announced that the band would represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2021.

2021: Participation in Eurovision 2021

In February 2021, it was announced that the group will perform at Eurovision 2021 with the song "Noise", which is based on the Ukrainian vernacular game "Green Noise". The idea and staging of the performance — Kostyantyn Tomilchenko and Oleksandr Bratkovskyi. Costumes were created by Dmytro Kuryata. The Go_A group reached the finals of the song contest by taking 2nd place in the semi-finals on May 18 and taking 5th place in the finals on May 22. According to the results of the audience vote, the group took 2nd place (267 points), and the national jury vote gave it 9th place (97 points).
