GoMeat is a blockchain-based online ordering and delivery service catering to everyday consumers of halal and kosher meat, offering them traceability and transparency of the meat, food, and groceries through the Hydra blockchain. The company has built the platform for a digital marketplace for the last-mile delivery infrastructure for local cities. For merchants, GoMeat offers a chance to grow their business by offering on-demand delivery, with live tracking and in-store efficiency, for consistent door-to-door experiences.
The company was founded in 2018 by Waqas Siddiqi and Syed Hamed Ullah Quadri and is headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
GoMeat was founded to help solve a pain point in the halal and kosher meat industry, in which specialty meat stores (vs traditional grocery stores) tend to be the only places where halal and kosher meat can be purchased. Generally, customers of these stores have to wait in long lines to receive the specialty meat, but GoMeat allows them to skip those lines. Further, GoMeat helps the specialty meat stores, which often are family-owned shops with limited resources and do not have digital footprints nor enough resources to provide delivery services. Further, they often do not conduct digital marketing or discount promotions, which GoMeat works to help them with.
GoMeat also works with halal and kosher certification boards, which are not-for-profit bodies with limited funding and resources intended to track and maintain the certifications for specialty meat stores. They are also often short-staffed to follow up with individual stores and renew those certifications when expired. GoMeat works to help these certification boards and the stores maintain their certifications through the company's platform.
