Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is a public university located in Allendale, Michigan, United States. Founded in 1960, it is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has additional accreditations from the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET, and Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET. GVSU's motto is "Educating students to shape their lives, their professions, and their societies".
The University is affiliated with various organizations such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and the National Athletic Association.
