1960s. After a New York nightclub closes for renovations, bouncer Tony, nicknamed Chatterbox, is looking for a part-time job for a couple of months. Just at this time, Don Shirley - a sophisticated socialite, a rich and talented black musician who performs classical music - is going on a tour of the southern states, where racist beliefs are still strong and segregation reigns. He hires Tony as a driver, a bodyguard, and someone with the ability to solve current problems. These two have so little in common and this trip will change their lives forever.
