Marconi is best known for his work on the development of radio . He founded the Marconi Company and focused his academic discipline on physics . He received the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics and was later inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1975 . Marconi passed away on July 20, 1937, in Rome, Italy .
