French anatomist and military surgeon
Guillaume Dupuytren (born October 6, 1777, in Pierre-Buffière, France) was a physician and surgeon. During his lifetime, he made significant contributions to the field of medicine and trained notable figures, such as René Laennec, who later created the stethoscope. Dupuytren's career and life came to an end on February 8, 1835, when he passed away in Paris, France.
