Haakon IV of Norway was born in 1204 in Eidsberg, Norway. He held citizenship in Norway and was the son of Haakon III of Norway and Inga of Varteig . Haakon IV was educated at Trondheim Cathedral School and Bergen Cathedral School.
He served as the King of Norway during his lifetime . Haakon IV had four known children: Magnus VI of Norway, Sigurd Haakonsson, Christina of Norway (Infanta of Castile), and Haakon the Young. He was the father of Christina of Norway, who went on to become the Infanta of Castile .
Haakon IV of Norway passed away on December 16, 1263, in Orkney.
